SIME: Even pigs can fly…

This day started out with (for me) the editor in chief of Veckans Affärer, Pontus Schultz who talked about 5. or acctually 4 trendy trends. Not surprisingly he named ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES as a prominent trend. No big whoopsie there. Secondly he concluded that the companies isn’t the main influencer of trends anymore and that the torch has been passed on to.. wait for it… wait for it.. THE CONSUMER!!! The two other trends were FEAR and ….wait that was only three…;-)

Also..Jimmy Maymann from Go viral stated..”to be viral you have to be relevant”. A short line but oh so important!

Christophe Cauvy from Maccann made a likness between an italian village and Facebook and Myspace. Sounds strange but it was relevant I promise. During the presentation he also showed a curve that desrcibed how activity on social media networks depend on age and time availabitily. It reminded me of a curve that Professor Leif Edvinsson showed me that he called the “smile curve” (I have mentioned it here before..) and it  shows us how creativity relates to age which to me also can be applied to the usage of social media.

Robert Lang held a presentation called “in a hurricane, even pigs can fly” and I love that metaphore. To me, it talks about a couple of things and can be applied in many ways. I also loved the picture of the pig.

Surprisingly, the most interesting speaker of the day was (forgive me for saying this) Ulf Ekberg from the old swedish pop band Ace of Bace. He talked refreshingly about an open minded, clever and creative way of distributing music, envolving the consumers and making money of it! Basically, they have launched a application where the consumers can alter, remix and personalize “Ace of base” songs and to then buy their own version online. To me, this is amazingly smart and truly innovative. CUDOS! Check out their web page.

Be right back…
